I'm considering upgrading my GTX 285 to a 7970. As I built my PC a while ago before I had a job, aka was on a budget =/, the best CPU I could afford was a i5 750. I have obviously since then begun to earn a more substantial income, not much have you haha.

Anyways my question is, if I upgrade to the 7970 will I have any bottleneck issues from the CPU? The CPU is currently clocked to 3.9 ghz.

Other specs
16 GB 1333 DDR3
Mobo Asus P755d Pro
128 GB SSD
1 TB HDD
2 TB HDD
1 22in monitor at 1680x1050
1 24 monitor at 1920x1080 (the one I run the games on)

If you have another suggestion for a gpu let me know, my GPU of late has been starting to slow me down, I'm looking for somthing to run new modern FPS/RTS/MMOs on while occasionally streaming. I do not plan on running a dual monitor setup in the future, (double monitor one game that is). Also, if I should ever desire another 7970, hopefully not, will I need a new MOBO/CPU? If you think this GPU is too much for what I want let me know, but I want to run max graphics generally.

PS Mostly suiting up for ARMA 2 and 3, arma 2 is the game giving me issues at the moment. I also play BF3 occasionally.

This is my first post here, please be nice. =) I did read all the rules if I did something wrong I'm sorry =(

Thanks for all the help! :)

Your CPU should be fine handling the HD 7970, no bottleneck issues there.
