New 7770 and drivers question

hi fellas.
its been a while sice i had to insatll a new gpu and i was just wondering about the process i have to go thru now with windows 7.
so i ordered a new gigabyte 7770 after much research and with your guises help. should be here in a few days.
is this the process i go thru?

1. power down take out old card,
2. power up to onboard graphics
3. uninstall in control panel geforce drivers
now this is where im confused
4. power down and install new card?
5. use cd and install?
6. go to amd and get new catalyst?

some of you guys are saying dont use the cd at all and go directly to the new catalyst?
after part 3 is that the right order?

I typically un-install the old drivers and power down the system. Replace the card, re-boot and install the latest catalyst drivers....which I have downloaded before hand. Simple enough

whoohoo! just got my 7770 from purolator....so i was getting 18fps in hitman absolution and 25 fps in stalker cop....lets see what happens!

DAMN!!!!! did i get a bad card? all i get is no signal on my monitor. black screen. fan spins...not my psu cuz ive been swapping my 9600gt. obviously not my monitor.

i wonder if it has something to do with this "dvi-i support" i dunno. im on integrated graphics now. from here it should just be plug and play...all the nvidia drivers are gone.
