Fallout 3 and GTA 4

Hey, i had a some problems hoping you guys can help me with. For some reason Fallout 3 and GTA 4, (wich are both windows live games) for some reason stop working all of a sudden. It happens im like 10 15 minuets in game and it just stops. Says "Fallout 3 has stopped working" then I have to close the program and restart it and it will do it again. They worked fine on Windows 7, I know there older games but now they just barely work on Windows 8. I looked online and it said there both compatible. It first started happening in GTA then a few minuets ago it has been doing it in fallout so idk whats going on can someone please help.

Did you do an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8? If so, have you tried to re-install the games?

Not an update complete reinstall.
