Hello, I recently purchased the HD RADEON 7870 2gb of edition from sapphire.

It arrived today, I wired it all up and it powers on but no display.
I then took out the 4 pin out of the primary HDD, the pc boots up but reboots after loading the bios. I then decided to put it back to the way I originally did it, I took out the 4 pin from the optical drive and it booted up but I need the optical drive for the installation disc.

500w psu - not a good brand - source of the problem?

Mobo: gigabyte h61m-s2v-b3

All you need to know, what can I do to solve this?? I have no clue.

Thanks, keemann

can't say for sure if the PSU is your problem without knowing the full specs of the system but it could very well be; many cheap PSUs don't supply even close to what they claim and could damage other parts of the computer if they end up going out in a spectacular fashion. You can reply with all of your system stats to try and give a more detailed view of the problem, if you know someone with a reliable PSU you can also borrow it and see if switching them out resolves the issue.

It didn't have the 6pin connector, it works now, i brought an OCZ modxstream 600w :)

Thanks anyways,
