Graphics card upgrade

Hi. I'm a newbie to the tech world. excuse any silly questions or comments

One of my desktop graphics card is not working and i'm planning to upgrade the graphics card alone. My specs are

Intel core 2 quad Q8300 processor
4GB RAM (2+2) DDR2
Intel DG41TY motherboard
Power supply - 450w smps
PCI express x 16 connector - (1.1)

I was using NVDIA 9400GT (msi ) graphics card.

Any suggestion on a new 1GB or 2 GB graphics card. I heard the new graphics cards are PCI express 2.0. so pls suggest a card which is also compatible with PCI 1.1, because i dont wanna invest money in motherboard.

I not a hard core gamer. I just play ( games like COD mordern warfare 3 ) 6 or 7 hrs per week and i use photoshop cs5 a lot for design purpose.

  1. Look at a 7770 or 650ti. knowing your budget would help.

Thanks. I prefer NVIDIA and my budget is 100$ max
  3. The 7750 is the best card in you range then. You could get a 650, but it's not quite as strong.

HD 7750 then. Getting an HD 7770 would be well worth the extra $20, though.

thank u, but i prefer NVIDIA. also planning to buy it online. any suggestion.

    thanks in advance.
  6. I said you could get the 650, but it is a rip compared to the 7750 and 7770. Just know that you are spending more for no reason if that's what you choose. Although you came here looking for help and wanting to spend $100 on a gpu. There are only 2 gaming gpu's that cost $100 that are currently on the market. If you are only willing to get a nvidia card, there was no point in coming here because you only have one option.
  7. I would wait for the 650ti to drop in price if it ever does, cheapest I've seen is $110

It will if AMD decides to launch the rumoured 768 shader GPU

  8. go for hd 7750 bro it is good enough to handle games at high settings:)
  9. Yes - wait for a sale for the GTX 650Ti, then.

Did you bought gtx graphic card??
  13. 750ti for $89 is the best budget gpu I've seen lately or even a 950 for $120.
