I recently purchased a sapphire HD 7870
and of course, .... black screen
i then RMA'd the card
NCIX has just shipped out a replacement which i have not received yet (A124900015525, which is still not the new revision)
i have concerns , from reading online, many sapphire hd 7870's have gone through multiple RMA's (2-3) and still have black screen issues
recently sapphire stated they have finally fixed the issue, but i have not seen or read from any users with the new revision
"SAPPHIRE Technology has confirmed that a technical issue has been identified in two models of its HD 7870 series graphics cards, specifically SKU numbers 11199-16 and 11199-19 that were manufactured before Jan 23 2013 and before serial number A130300061911.
Cards with serial numbers after A130300061911 (ie A130300061912, A130300061913, etc) have already had the correction implemented."
So i contacted NCIX about my concerns,
they are now offereing a refund, if i send it back in exhange for Asus GTX 660
so do i take a risk and keep the HD7870, and possibly deal with a huge head ache of issues
or do i take a performance hit, and switch to the pricier GTX 660
please no FANBOY responses
