If you plan to overclock the 7950 by far if you plan to run both straight out of the box there pretty similar

Here is a 670 for $340. The 670 will give you smoother framerates than the AMD Radeon which needs to play catchup with its drivers.

7950 can overclock pretty well and comes with Bioshock and Crysis 3, so can't go wrong there. GTX 660Ti has it's worth can achieve the levels of GTX 670. So it comes down to whether you want Nvidia or AMD? And whether you like free games or not. Price can be in favour of 7950 but you have to look for a good deal from Sapphire, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, HIS and Powercolour. I'd personally go for 7950 over GTX 660Ti, but should you choose to get the GTX 660Ti then grab it from eVGA, ASUS or MSI. Again, 7950 with new 13.2 beta driver makes it the go to card on that price bracket. Here're some good cards for you to pick from:

AMD Radeon HD 7950

Cheers!

Ahem, the new driver wishes to differ with your claim. So let's see which card did good in terms of smooth frames in Crysis 3, just Crysis 3.

Here's the link: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crysis-3-performance-benchmark-gaming,3451-5.html

You can find it in the main page and it shows how much the 13.2 has improved the fps smoothness for 7950 ans so on!

Some of you are so clueless. If you put a 670 and a 7950 in the same system i guarentee you would not know the difference.

You're welcome and you wouldn't be disappointed with AMD 7950. Go for Sapphire and check out the links that I gave you. Cheers!

the best part of this decision is that you'll be happy with either choice!

personally, I would get the 7950 and your free copy of crysis3 to benchmark it with :p

How much did Nvidia pay you to type that, most know that its Nvidia that needs to catch up their driver WHQL releases have quite a few problems

A 7950 OC @ 1200> an overclocked 680 !!!

Massive dips and stuttering in Crysis 3, SLI support needs some more tweaking. Crashing in BF3 with their last WHQL again! Now seems to have been resolved with their latest Beta 314.14. The worst thing of all as everyone knows benchmark scores taking a hit with every forceware release! Come on now..

Anyway the bottom of the article!

Two games that I don't have, that could explain why I haven't had any problems!

That article is from way back then. We are talking about now. Go have a look at the charts for Crysis and other recent benchmarks. The 13.2 has brought the smoothness to AMD and now it's Nvidia that is lagging. Take those blinders off bud. We're all for p/p and right now Nvidia needs to up it's game with the next drivers!

New drivers came out yesterday so maybe they have.

GTX 660 ti in SLI works wonders imo. Much more rock solid than ATI cards. I personally love EVGA and XFX sucks these days which is really the only company that offers lifetime warranties on ATI cards.

I have never had a nvidia card give me errors where as when I went quad 5870 I had so many issues it made me never want to go ATI again.

When people are paying an extra $25 for a 3GB 660 Ti that is already weaker than the 7950 it is worth mentioning. Honestly idk what the dilemma is here.

A 7870 LE is stronger than the 660 Ti and it costs $240. Seriously Nvidia's cards have laughably less value than AMD's at this point.

I was about to ask this same question. Im choosing the 7950 w/ the games or the MSI 660 Ti. The only reason I would get the 660 ti is cause of physx but it that really worth it??
