Hello...

I've had no problems recording wav files with Sound forge 4.5, until
now....

For some reason... two minutes into a 15 minute voice recording I just
finished doing (without any stops in recording or modification
whatsoever) it turns into chipmunk type speed and pitch!

I tried a second attempt and I sounded like a chipmunk for the whole
thing.

I've tried every option of every tab in the menu bar and nothing seems
to work...

*Note... while playing around I had the whole file selected... I
right-clicked and chose "Overwrite" and that brought it back to my
normal sounding voice... but after saving it and reopening the file it
was back at chipmunk speed again...

what is happening and why?

Sounds like something may be mismatching the sample rate of your audio file
to your sound card.
