Hello Tom's Hardware community!
This is my first post and I have a quick question about a video card.
I have a kinda low budget, and I was looking at this card.

  1. There are better cards for the same price, such as the 7750/70.

As one example of many: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=72479

In the original review of the 640, it wasn't as good as the 7750. In the recent Crysis 3 review, the 7750 performed on par with the 650 (The 640 was not considered).

If you insist on Nvidia, get the 650/650ti: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=76612

Personally, I'd get the 7770 for ~$100, or go up to something like the 7850 / 660.

    Just my 2 cents.
  2. Thanks, Robert. :-)
  3. Definitely the 7770 for ~$100. And you don't need a 4GB of video ram on a low end graphics card (it's just marketing).

Same card on newegg if you prefer:

    EDIT: removed hard drive

As for the hard drive (not sure what exactly is cheap to you):

Thanks, that is about what I was thinking on the HDD. I might just buy it, and I'll probably purchase the 7770 in the next month or two.
