I've got the MN-720 in an IBM 1300 laptop with Windows 98. When I turn
on computer, power light show constantly on and wireless light blinks.
After about 30 minutes or so, I can go into Microsoft Network Adapter
Utility, Tools> Adapter Settings> Configure>, back all the way out,
and then it works. If I try this before the computer's been on awhile,
the technique doesn't work. I've called Microsoft tech support three
times w/o success. One time I was told that the problem was
interference with my cordless phone (not true). I've been lurking
around this group for a few days but haven't seen this problem. Anyone
have ideas?

Hi,

Are you running Windows 98 Second Edition?

I'm sorry, I'm running Windows ME, not Windows 98

I still have this problem. Is there anyone out there that can help me?

I'm still having the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas on what
I might try to solve it?

I reported the same problem (different laptop) back in November 2003. See
this link:

I'm still awaiting the fix. Perhaps the fix will never arrive since
extended hotfix support for Windows ME ended 12/31/2003.

I am not as patient as you so I don;t wait as long. I
have a similar problem with my XP laptop. My workaround
has been to power on the machine completely and log on
THEN insert the card. I don't know if the same can be
done in 98.

I have the same problem as well, but it's running Windows
XP home. I have 3 PC's and an Xbox connected right now,
All Windows XP home. The MN-720 connected laptop is the
only one with this problem though. I guess I could try
pulling the card before powering it on, but I certainly
don't want to have to do that all the time. A fix would
be better.
