Smore newb questions. I've read lots of other posts on RAID, so I only have a few simple questions. Can I use just one HD on a raid board (Asus A7V266 or 333 with RAID) until I have the money to get another HD (WD20GB ATA100).
And do I need to get anything besides the board, 2nd HD and ATA cables to set up RAID 0 ? Thanks

you can use one HD on the asus board connecting it to the IDE port. When you will get one more hd you will connect the two hd to the raid port. When you will get the new hd you will save your data first on a CD-Rom and then try to build an array without formatting the old disk.
The Asus board already has the RAID controller on board so you do not need to buy it. To build a RAID array you will only need two (at least) drives. You will connect the two drives configured as master to the two channels of the RAID controller.
