i start it and it works fine on tivo. after playing a game or watching
the weather, I go back to the menu and the server is off line and
cant get anything to display. I turn off hme, turn it back on and i
see everything ok again on tivo. Seems once I use an application, it
messes up the link. any way to fix this so it stays on the menu?

I had some issues with the server disappearing once in a while similar
to what you described, but it turned out that my wireless signal wasn't
great and by repositioning the antenna and access point it went away.
Since you're wired (if I remember correctly) I doubt this could be the
problem.
