Can i attach this gpu to the motherboard?

I have this gpu http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Radeon-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-R7770-PMD1GD5/dp/tech-data/B0089KJRLG/ref=de_a_smtd and this motherboard http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/M5A78L/ the problem is that the motherboard pci 2.0 and the gpu supports pci-e 3.0. What i should do?

Yes you will be just fine. PCI-E 3 is backwords compatible so it will work on a PCI-E 2 board with no problems.

The PCIe standard is backwards compatible so the selected GPU will work in your motherboard. Just make sure that your power supply is sufficient to power the system with the new GPU.

Thanks for the fast reply.My psu is 550w.Amd fx 6100 cpu and 6 gb ram.Im guessing that i should most of the new games at high settings,right?

Not high with a 7770, but you will play new games well at medium settings.
