Aaah just found that it will play sounds through an external earpiece
but not the internal one...is this normal?

If a handsfree isn't connected, your recordings should play via the internal
speaker.

Could be a firmware issue if the internal speaker functions fine otherwise.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Antz...turns out you have to turn ring volume up to play sounds
through internal earpiece...simple...guess I really am a dummy..having
said that its not clear in the manual. I just assumed that the meeting
profile merely stopped audible ringing keyclicks etc. This is one
difference compared with my old T68 which happily played back my
recordings regardless of the profile I'd set. Now I really am happy
with the new fone.

The other main difference being that it is actually possible to text
at a reasonable speed on the 610..the 68 was awful...though my old
Phillips Savvy still beats all comers in that respect!

Fair play - I never knew that myself.
