Will a hd 7850 run on a 450 w psu?

You haven't got the strongest CPU on the planet but it wont bottleneck a 7850. AMD reccomends a 500w because people usually see that it requires that and then go out and buy a 10$ 500w PSU that will explode if you get it anywhere near that, so at its actual requirement its safe. On your system its unlikely you'll pull more than 250w or so.

The Corsair VS 450 is made by CWT like most Corsair units. Although not 80 Plus certified it produces 34 amps on the 12v rail for 408 watts on the 12v rail. The new 80 Plus Bronze version of the 430CX makes 32a/382w on the 12v rail. That makes the VS 450 more powerful even though it's less efficient. It is plenty of power for an HD 7850.

Then doubt the RealhardtechX database. The older dual rail version has been discontinued for quite some time. He almost certainly has the newer version with an AMD FX processor.

Even then the older version had 30a/360w on the12v rail. Still plenty for an HD 7850.

Had it a few months. :D

Not that it will matter soon except as a "legacy" badge. You heard a date on the switchover Muffin? I thought it was supposed to be at the end of January. Looks like they missed.
