9800 gtx replacement

Good day,

I've been wanting to play the more recent games like Crysis 3 or bioshock I finite, unfortunately my rig is as follows

750w real power pro cooler master
4gb ddr2 ram
Asus p5qle
GeForce 9800 gtx 512mb
Intel quad core 2.8ghz

If I simply want to upgrade the gpu to a more recent directx11 one, based on my motherboard is it possible? My budget is around 100-150 only and I play at 720p only. What would you recommend?

get something like hd 7770/7850. also if you can add another 4gb of ram it will help!

You can get a HD7850 though it will often get bottolenecked in more recent games even if you overclock that quad
If you realy dont want a complete PC upgrade I guess a HD7770 or 650 ti is your best card.

You have PCI express 2.0 on that board correct? If so you can put pretty much anything on there at that budget maybe a Nvidia geforce gtx 560ti or 650. or an AMD equivalent.

If you dont want a complete PC/Platform upgrade I guess a HD7770 or 650 ti is your call which are pcie backward compatible.

Before recommending to someone to upgrade their memory from 4 GB to 8 GB one should ask what version of their operating system they are running. The OP didn't list their OS and if we're to make an assumption, a computer this old could very well be a 32 bit operating system.

Other then the graphics card upgrade I wouldn't add more memory; partially since you couldn't even use it in your next build, since you're running DDR2 RAM.
