Recently I have been having an issue with my graphics card. For starters I have the ASUS EAH6850 (Radeon). I have had it for about 2-3 years and it has pretty much been problem free until recently. When playing a game suddenly the entire screen will shift so that what is normally the left edge of the screen is several inches from the right edge. Also when playing Civilization 5 I experienced some minor artifacting but haven't in any other games.

I have been overclocking this card the majority of the time I have had it, however, I haven't been pushing it near what many sites recommended. Now I can't overclock it at all, in fact if I underclock it I generally don't have any problems. Heat wise it generally clocks in at around 50°C and under load (OC'd) mid 60's.

I also recently installed a SSD, and given the slightly cramped conditions in my case I am wondering if something may have happened to it when I was installing it as issues didn't start until about a week or so later. I am hoping to get a new card soon anyways but wanted to make sure that this wasn't something else causing the issue first. I was also hoping to put this card in my gf's comp if it was still good. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I know that on windows if you go to

Control panel
Apearence
Adjust resoloution

You can pick which side is primary and which side is the extension, have a quick look in that and try to set it right. Good luck

I get what you are saying but this is more of a glitch that happens. The screen is fine normally but when my GPU is under a heavier load the screen shifts like that. It doesn't necessarily stay in the same spot either which is leading me to think that my card is dying or has some sort of voltage issue.

Try it in your gf PC.
If happens the same thing you should change the card.
Other issues :
Extreme Overclocking (depends on the brand)
Driver failure.
Clear the dust on your graphic card.--->i had a problem with my graphic card a lot of stange pixels on the screen.

I recently cleaned it and I reinstalled the drivers, same issue. Ill give it a go in the gf's pc tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions. It wont be so bad if its dying, I was looking for an excuse to upgrade :D
