Looking for a mid tier graphics card. Nvidia or AMD, doesn't matter.

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Mostly Gaming, don't expect to play on extreme high. Just need something that will last

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: starting a new build...most likely a 750 watt psu or a little lower

7870 Myst from Powercolor or 7870 XT from Sapphire is the way to go.

otherwise get a 7870 vapor-X from Sapphire, overclock it to the max and never look back. it'll pretty much max everything at 1080p (with a small handful of exceptions where you'll have to turn down AA a little bit :p )
