Hi all
I installed the HCB-30 last week myself but am having a weird problem.
Basically if I have a phone connected then everything works fine.
When I do NOT have a phone in the car, the HCB LED flashes red and
every 5 secs, mutes the car stereo for a second.
I've tried a master reset but nothing has changed.

Sounds like you might have a faulty unit.
With my HCB-30, if I don't have a phone, it indeed flashes red (but doesn't
mute the stereo) and then after about 20 secs, all the lights go out.
Consider getting it changed
Also, are you absolutely sure that you have the correct stereo mute lead
for your car...and that it is fitted correctly?

I had a similar problem with my HCB-30 and it was traced to a faulty
dashboard switch. My stereo was totally unusable until the repair was
effected.
