I was wondering. I just got a new mobo with ata100 support, but the location of the controller on the board is too far away for my current cables to reach my CD-rom drives. I am about to order some 36" ATA100 cables and I need to know if there will be any interference/attenuation problems caused by the longer cables. also the cables are rounded so I think that may cause some crosstalk as well. If anyone has any inputs on this I would appreciate it.

The longer you get the more problems you will have! 18" is the standard. No hard drive mfg. will support a drive on a 36" cable I don't think.
