Limiting Internet to a computer.

Hello,
My sister downloads using torrents on her laptop which drains the internet. Whenever I try to play online xbox I always get network errors and lag. Is there a way to limit his internet without blocking it off completely so she wouldn't know ? I know i can use MAC filtering but that'll block her out completely. I think I know a program called cisco network magic but I'll have to install a copy of the program on my pc and her so that's no good either. Also if there's a way to prioritize the xbox using QoS should be good. My router is D-Link DSL-2640U.

The idea is to limit her internet so she would be able to browse without affecting my gaming.

These are the input screens for my router's settings. Also I have edited the screenshots to show the options available from the drop down menus.

In order:

1. Quality of Service http://i41.tinypic.com/10hn80l.jpg
2. QoS - Queue Config http://i39.tinypic.com/34tec28.jpg
3. QoS - Queue Configuration http://i41.tinypic.com/2nw0rux.jpg
4. QoS - Classification http://i43.tinypic.com/mhbmtf.jpg
5. QoS - Classification Add http://i44.tinypic.com/xqf191.jpg

Thanks in advance

I would use QoS and give your MAC address/IP address the highest level and hers the lowest, problem solved.

If she cannot control herself with the torrents, I would block her access to all known torrent sites -- torrent simply require too many connections and kill everyone else's connection quality. Her browsing alone should not really hurt your gaming.

The thing is I don't know how to configure the QoS on my router. Can you help me with that. Or tell me a program that will allow me to limit her internet without installed the software on both PCs? I downloaded CCProxy and I'm trying to limit her internet but it's not happening. I'm still new to the whole networking thing sorry.

If i looked up the right modem, you can set port priority on that device. You should also be able to hard set the ports to 10mb or 100mb, you could set her to 10 ;).

Okay I guess I understand the main idea, I did from the start. The problem is since I'm not into networking I don't know what to fill in. That's why what I needed help with. All I know is the MAC address of my xbox and her laptop and I already gave the xbox a permanent IP, I don't know what ports are or anything really. This might be a hopeless case. :( Thank you though.
