No experience on this burner specifically, but I've found that Plextors are the most reliable burners to be around!

I have that burner, an excellent one it is.

Never burned a coaster with it. I just haven't found 40x media for it yet.

That's one complaint I'd like to make... if only CD media makers would keep up with the drives' speeds and have their media available widely.

Yes, there is currently a shortage of 40X CD-R. Surely in a few weeks, we will see lots of them on the shelf.
For now use the 16X or 24X CD-R and the drive should function just as well.
