what is the optimum stripe size for a raid array. my highpoint rocket raid 133 offers stripe sizes up to 2mb. i'm using a pair of maxtor d740-6l 40gb drives on the raid card and 64k data stripes. i boot off of the raid array and my c: ntfs win2k partition covers the whole thing.

thanks in advance,

mike

What are you using the RAID array for? Video, storage, etc.

Usually 64k is the default and should be fine if you aren't going to be using larger files.

it's my primary windows partition and will hold my program files, and other stuff. i'll also use it for unraring vcd's and pulling the mpg's out.

I would probably just leave it at 64k.
