My acer laptop wont shut down

Hello, my Acer Aspire One was scheduled for it's McAfee scan, so it ran til it reached 34% then stopped. I powered off my computer (causing it to force close the McAfee scan) and everything was going fine until it froze during the force close. I kept hitting power to no avail, and the laptop doesn't have a removable battery. It's been like this for 2 hours now. HELP

Of course its got a removeable battery....

Do this...

UNPLUG charger

Turn laptop over and remove the battery

Press power button for a MINIMUM of ONE MINUTE

replace battery then plug in charger, then press on button
