Internet disconnecting on new laptop - Any help please?!!

Hey guys, just wondered if someone could share there knowledge on a problem i have.

I know this has probably been asked a million times before but ive been having trouble with both my old and brand new HP laptops when it comes to connecting to the internet.

On both laptops i have 3-4 bars on signal strength but every 10-20 minutes it will just disconnect from the internet. My phone stays connected and so does our Acer laptop in the kitchen. I have tried different routers but the problem still exists.

Any ideas?? Cheers!

What router are you using and how do you connect to the Internet (DSL? what appliance does the line plug into?)?

Try to set the lease time in the DHCP menu in your router to high value... The disconnection might be caused by this.

One question though, When your laptops disconnect from the internet. Do you have to restart your router to get the internet working again?

Also how is your setup? do you have a separate DSL modem than your router?
