I am planning on buying an extigy and inspire 5300 speaker set. According to the pictures in the 5.1/4.1 speaker article there are no wires. Nothing on any of their website indicates that you need to do any wiring. I just wanted to make sure that the sattelite speakers are wireless.
thanks for your help
In war the idea is not to die for your country, it's to make the other bastard die for his.
No, they're wired. I don't think wireless speakers exist, since the amount of electricity pumping through the air would probably cause cancer (seriously).

If wireless speakers did exist, you wouldn't be pumping electicity into the air but a radio signal carrying digital information for the speakers to process and convert to audio. You could probably run the speakers on Lithium or Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. The only problem right now is that the batteries wouldn't last very long, especially at maximum volume.
AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor
Since batteries wouldn't last long (as you said), I would assume that wireless speakers would have a powered signal transmitted. But since the technology doesn't exist in the marketplace, it's just conjecture.
