Voice Activated Recording has been common in cassette tape recorders for 10
years. Can anyone name an MP3 player/recorder that does voice activated
recording? They make "digital voice recorder" devices but they're
overpriced and under-capacited. thanks,

rw

My little Cowon iAudio gadget does that.
It is not even as big as two AAA cells and
includes an FM tuner as well as MP3 playing
and voice recording, etc. I thought that was
pretty typical of such devices.

Use an HP iPAQ handheld PDA and run Resco's Audio Recorder software. If
you use an older iPAQ (e.g., an h3850) it will cost under $150 and can
record in WAV format as well as MP3.
