This may be a question that is borderline of the forum but I am recently new to setting up a network.

I have purchased a domain name and I have configured my computer (Windows XP) to use IIS. So far I have the website up and running under my IP Address. My question is: How would I connect my domain name to the IP address so the name would simply direct to the website?

Solution
You should be able to get the company you purchased the domain name from to direct the dns name to the ip address you want to to go to. Go to, http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Then contact who you bought the domain from and have them direct it to the IP address that shows up on that page. You may be able to do it yourself on their website, but that depends on where you bought the domain.
