Windows 7 compatibility with office 2007

Hello,
Tried installing Office 2007 on my grandaughters laptop (had previously been on her vista operating system it had to be wiped and operating system put on again)It is now on Windows 7 system all i get is a pip will not even open I then tried it on my XP system it will open on that system Any ideas?

try using compatablity mode. if you right mouse click the word icon for say. then properties and there should be a compatabilty tab, change it to the same os as your vista

I did a clean install of Office 2007 after a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit...it does work absolutely fine without any need to use any of the compatibility settings in Windows 7. hmmm..maybe something went wrong during the office installation and corrupted your office.
