OK I been seeing around that alot of people are having trouble with the SB audigy. Either its not detecting the card, squeal of death and well this is my friends problem on win98se. It installs...but thats it...won't detect it..tried updating the drivers..it crashed his system. Had it actually working ( yes onboard sound is disabled and his old SC drivers were removed ) but whenever he went to play games...1 to 3 minutes into the game his system would crash.

Any ideas?
Any suggestions on another card. He use's his computer for normal gaming ( Deus Ex, RTCW, etc )

Win98se
Athlon XP 1.7
ECS K7s5a ( i think thats the name of the mobo )
G4 Ti4400
SB Audigy Gamer ( crap in my opinion - reason why I am here )

The Hercules Game Theater XP or Turtle Beach Santa Cruz seem to have the backing of most people in this forum.

I can't think of a good signature so I'll use this one.

What kind of Power supply does he have? can you give us a full system specs? I have the Audigy installed and have had no problems with it, except that my Hoontech SB III D/O board need slight modification to get it to have digital in.

If it works for you then don't fix it.
