I just started to read about the networking and to-go features of the Tivo,
but it seems that this is not supported on the DirecTV version. Can anyone
confirm this? Can the USB ports on the Hughes 40 be activated in order to
network the Tivos?

thank you,

Bill

You can activate the USB ports by hacking the box. DirecTV will tell you
that if you hack the box they will discontinue your Tivo service.
