Hi there,

Thought I'd start a thread on driver design.

What I'd like to talk about all the driver design elements (cone material,
surround damping / compliance, magnet plate thickness, underslung voil coils
etc) that make up a good driver. Some drivers seem to have 'it' all
together, working in unison to create some boner inducing musicality.

Some folks LOVE the sound of a Goodmans Axiom 80, for example. What about
its constituent component elements makes it such a driver of note, while
others are not?

Anyone here have some expertise on the matter, or have designed their own
driver?

Woofers, subwoofers or tweeters it doesn't matter.

Lets examine what makes an ideal driver for a given frequency range.
