Good replacement for a Ubee modem

My friend just found out that he has been paying a monthly charge to rent a "Ubee" cable modem from Comcast. I think he should buy his own modem and cancel the rental. Problem is - I am not tech savvy enough to know WHAT exactly he should be buying. His set up is such that he has internet and basic cable. He also has Wifi so that he can access Netflix via his Wii. He is paraplegic and unable to help me out so I am trying to do this on my own. Can anyone suggest a good replacement for the "Ubee"? Thanks! ---Maria

the setup I would recommend is to get a Motorola 6120 or 6121 modem and use a separate router like a Linksys E2700, or E3500, Netgear WNR3500, or WNDR3700, ASUS RT-N16, TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
