No Pinging allowed?

Hello,

I use Comcast and measuring speeds of 25 up/ 4 down.
Issue is for any site pinged I receive a request time out, and also cannot FTP, as I also receive time outs.

After many calls to Comcast I was notified that since I don't have a business acct., as long as I can "surf the internet",
they see no issues.

I'm directly connected to modem, it's a phone/internet one.

Anyway to double check this to see if I can ping and FTP again?
When I use a web based ping it rates my connect as A.

Go into command prompt on your PC and try pinging 4.2.2.4.

Check your firewall and router. Most default to not allow ping/ICMP.

many sites drop ping packets. try "tracert <address>"

Ping coming in, not going out. Unless changed from defaults....would be a good idea if you do have a firewall to reset defaults.

Have you tried a tracert as kewlx25 suggested? Does that work?

At the modem I set the firewall to low and now it pings ok.
