Just to let you know about the latest mobile phone scam that the O2
technical Dept have informed me about. If you get an incoming call that shows
'ACE' on your display, don't answer it The call from 'ACE' contains a mobile
phone virus which deletes all information from your phone. Not only the info
stored on the SIM, but all the info needed for the phones operating
system. If you answer the call, the virus is transmitted rendering your phone
completely useless. The phone cant be reprogrammed and will have to be
replaced.

.... and if you have a Bluetooth, IrDA or USB connection to any computer
it will infect that one as well regardless of operating system. This is
true for all variants of Windows, UNIX and Mac OS ...

Oh, I forgot, the world is flat like a pizza. ;-)

Old news I'm afraid, and absolutely nothing to do with what you originally
posted. Cabir is a proof of concept which is spread via BlueTooth, only
operates on Symbian based phones and has no destructive payload.

That's nice, but what on earth has that got to do with virii spreading
through voice calls, like you said in your first post?

Yes, there has been a mobile phone virus created. This has been known for
quite some time. But it is nothing like the one in your original post. That
rubbish has been circulating for years. I find it funny people are still
believing it. If you took any time to read that article, it is a simple,
nondestructive virus that only infects devices running symbian.

AFAIK its a hoax, like the phone contacts that appear on your phone
telling you you have a virus, which are usually received via bluetooth
after being bluejacked (more info bluejackaddict.co.uk).
