Memory Question Clarification

I have recently seen that corsair has produced PC3000 DDR ram which I believe is DDR400. There are motherboards that specifically state that they can utilize PC2700 DDR333 but I cannot find any that specifically say that they are designed to work with DDR400 or higher in the case of PC3200 DDR ram. Is this because many if not all of these boards were released far before the release of this memory?? And if this is the case can these boards fully utilize the newer memory?? My reference board is the ASUS A7V333 KT333...clicking on product info on corsairs website shows the boards that they do their testing with but the EPOX board seems to have a few limitations. Anyone with knowledge in this field it would be GREATLY appreciated if you would respond to this post.
