5400 rpm hdd

how much does having a slow harddrive affect a person's gaming??? one of my older systems is going to be upgraded and im thinking of keeping the hdd... should i stay with 5400 or go 7200... will my gaming be affected?

Nice people are kool...Mean people just suck :lol:

In one word, Yes, especially if those games require a lot of reading off your hard drive. 7200RPM drives are theoretically 33% faster, and they do make a big difference.

if you have an ATA33 HD (or even ATA66; there is not a huge difference between both in terms of performances), with an 7200RPM ATA100 HD, i think you can expect a performances increase around 10 to 20 pourcent.
