Does windows 7 have to run on the C: drive?

Dual boot on a PC with Windows 7 makes the partition of the chosen OS into the C: drive on boot. Is there a way of overriding this, or does Windows 7 only run on the (logical) C: drive?

  1. Regardless of which partition you place Windows in, the active Windows will always see its partition as C: drive
  2. Thanks. Shame that got changed from XP (& before) & that there is no way of reverting to the old way, where Windows was happy to see itself as being on any drive.
