I have a USB cable that I can plug into my notebook to recharge my P800. I
also see S/E selling another cable that plugs into USB & allows data transfer
without that stupid "flying saucer" that has already failed to work because
the phone leans too far & doesn't make good connection.

Does S/E or anyone else make a USB cable that will do recharging AND data at
the same time? I want one for my notebook bag. Even better if it will work
with the 910 as well.

All SE data cables and "saucers" have the connection to plug-in a charger.
They don't make a paticular combo cable just cables that can be combined
with the charger. You're looking for a DCU-11, however I've never had of any
problems using the sync station that came with the unit. The "angle" is
normal, I charge aand sync a P800 and T637 all the time with no issues.

True, but that means I need to carry a charger with me as well or have the
saucer plug into TWO usb ports! :-)

"also features a charger port" - presumably that means I have to plug a
charger into the back of the DCU-11? Or I have to plug my USB-power cable
into the back of the DCU-11 - and have the phone connected to 2 usb ports on
my PC.

I can't understand why this should be necessary - why hasn't some smart
person come up with 1 cable that could supply power AND data. Doesn't sounds
like rocket science.

The angle started off being normal on mine, but the phone doesn't sit nicely
any more - it starts to sag down & I find I'm not making good contact any
more. It's gotten to the point where it won't charge at all on the sync
station - I have to pull the power cable out & power the phone straight into
the bottom.

HotSync + charger cable: http://shop.brando.com.hk/bwp800synccharger.php
$29 + $3 shipping worldwide.
Also lots of other stuff for P800/P900 (and other phones/PDA/iPod).

Does anyone know why this wouldn't work with a P900?

Why would you need to download software to go with it?
