I have an
AMD 1090T
Asus Crosshair IV formula
200 Mhz Corsair 8 Gig Ram
ATI Saphire Radeon HD 6950 2 Gig DDR5

I am using Kaspersky internt security 2012 on a Windows 7 64 bit OS

I have no ATI catalyst controll pannel, If I go to install my ATI graphics driver, the instilation fails

I do have screenshots on a zipped word doc showing the steps of me un-installing and then re-installing

I've e-mailed saphire for support and they are stumped.
Anyone have any ideas please?

dumb question but u are installing 64 bit driver

suggestion = click start and type" record steps to reproduce problem" (without the quotes)

and select that app which populated in the left colum

if you run that while attepting to install driver it may lead to what is going wrong

5 different 6950 2 gig ddr5 cards on the site did u try all 5 drivers

I have used the record steps to reproduce problem like you suggested. I am using the 64 bit drivers and I even used the amd driver detect program to make sure I had the correct ones.
that application asked me to save it as a zip file, what should I do now?

you may have a stick of bad ram. or an issue with a ram stick. the drivers may be downloading fine but then being damaged when they hit the stick of bad ram. i would power down your pc and take out 1/2 the ram and see if the driver installs fine.
the other issue with new builds and hardware not installing is that your missing the mb chipset drivers first. without the pci controlr or bridge drivers windows cant see the video card.

Application Install: install package failure!

Get your driver package from the AMD site:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

It sounds like you are incorrectly downloading the drivers from the Sapphire site although I don't know how.

To be certain, do this:
1) Download the correct package from AMD
2) Uninstall your current ATI/Catalyst drivers completely
3) reboot
4) Install the new package

*Or you could try "auto detect and install" from the AMD link if it works.

All five cards will use the exact same driver. In fact, most of the other AMD cards are also in the same package.
