How to connect a modem with another modem

Hello, i have a at&t modem and wireless router in one. its the source of my internet and is in my office room and i was wondering if i can use my old westell wireless modem router and hook it up in my bedroom so i can have a better signal for my laptop and use an ethernet cable for other things like the tv and ect
