Do such products exist?

A friend of mine (I'm in UK and so is he) is currently using a laptop
to create (burn) personalised CD's using regular (bought) music CD's
for his source material. But, he wants to get a CD player that will
allow him to create (burn) personalised CD's, (then he can sell his
laptop (to me) hopefully) :c)

My friend says he saw an advert for a machine that would to the job. He
thought it was by Music Fidelity, but they don't seem to make such
machines. Anyone know who makes these machines?, (particularly UK
manufacturer(s), but not absolutely essential I'm sure).

Yamaha sells cd writers with built-in HDD's.
