i have a computer that i use for playing mp3s and movies out in our living room, my roomate has asked me to remove the computer cause i dont legaly own the movies or songs that i play on it, i guess thats fine, its our living room, his tv and stereo. BUT his only reason for that is cause its against the law. yet he is a porsche mechanic and takes these cars on road tests and frequently breaks 100 mph on city streets and freeways. is that not illeagle? same goes for software, he thinks he is legit with win xp cause he has an educational copy, he never went to the college he got it from, he was not even a student at the time of purchase, he has no legal right to use that copy, i told him this, he chooses to ignore times he breaks the law for his own benefit. damn bastard. him driving the sh1t out of those cars on city streets is 50 times more dangerous than me watching some movies i didnt pay for, fvckin prude.

well... my friend, he is right and so are you... now its about how who is going top the other. for the better or worse.


i just don't see how moving the PC changes anything. you could leave it there and play your movies when he isn't around. you still have your rights... unless he doesn't use anything of yours and expects the same of you. you have the right to leave your PC there just as he does with his TV... no?

You should let him get about 3/4 the way through a real good movie, one he's never seen, and then get up and apoligise to him for corrupting his morality, shut off the computer and leave the room!!!! :cool:

It sounds like you and your roomate do not get along very well.
If it's your computer and your IP account I don't think he tell you what you can and cannot do with your property. Your roomate has a right to their opinion. They also have the right to ask you not to use their property (TV and Stereo) to watch and listen to pirated entertainment.

I like the recommendation made to let your roomate watch 3/4 of a movie they haven't seen and then shut it off.

I believe you have a few options. You can move out. Ask the roomate to move out. Move your computer into your own room. Buy your own TV and Stereo equipment.
It sounds like you and your roomate don't agree on alot of things. Sometimes it's best to part ways if you can financally affort to.

I applogize if my comments sound like $hit. However it's just my personal opinion.

Oil and brakes can be fun. My friend was over and we needed to get somewhere but had no car. Fine, I dug out my old Raleigh M30, replaced the tires and made some adjustments and repairs, and voila, working in 30 mins. Had no motor oil so I took a can of WD40 and sprayed the sh!!t out of the chain. Problem was it managed to get onto the brakes as well so had a fun time downhills:)

As for your problem, why not get your own TV and stereo and sell his?

its not that we dont get along, this is the first time weve had a disagrement in 7 months. and no i wont buy my own stereo and tv cause his system cost about 3 grand. not including surrounds and a new amp (soon to be bought). i am kindof tempted to take away the dvd player, that is mine rofl.

Most of us are hypocrites at times (if you are human that is), but when you are sharing living space, you both have to agree to the rules, and there's no room for hypocrisy in such a situation.

Get a removable hdd. Leave the pc there. That way you can play the sh!t when he's not around and when he is there the illegal stuff won't be in the room so he can suck on an egg.
