UPS with 4DTV receiver

Does anyone use a UPS with their receiver?
Any specific ones good for this (what power requirements)?

Lost my unit id last summer, don't want a repeat this year.
We lose current here (momentary) quite a lot during summer storms.
Have a good surge supressor on the entire system, but the quick
on/offs during times i'm not home to unplug everything was told
to me as the probable cause for the wipe-out of the last receiver.

Ideas?

What are you looking for? Data protection from a power
loss? Or transient protection so that hardware is not
damaged. Both are completely different solutions that are
typically located in different locations. If your 'good'
protector is adjacent to equipment, then it is the type that
protects from the type of surge that does not typically
exist. 'Good' protectors costs maybe $1 per protected
appliance. Ineffective protectors typically costs about $15
or $60.

All of which is irrelevant to keeping a power loss (which is
not a power surge) from erasing a unit id.

This being different from a plug-in UPS to only protect from
power loss.
