T610 - Phone Reboot Issue

I've recently upgraded my t610 to a K700i, and wanted to give my old t610 to
my girlfriend.

trouble is - now it won't stay on for longer than 6 seconds.

It boots, finds network, goes darks and reboots. Over... and over ... ...
and over ... ... and over ... ... and over ... ... and over ... well you get
the drift.

has anyone else had experience of this?

What could have caused this?

is this something that my network provider could have done via sim/account?

The issue continues no matter what sim is in it - and i have also tried
another t610 battery... to no avail.
