Hi!
I´ve just installed W2000 but I want to disable the CD autorun and I don't know how to do it.
Thanks

The easiest way would be to hold down the 'shift' key as you insert the CD.

A more permanent method is to open regedit.exe and drill down to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom.

Change the Autorun value to 0. To enable set the value back to 1.

Actually, the easiest way would be to right mouse click on my computer. Click properties from the menu. The click on device manager which is on one of the tabs (maybe the third one over?). Expand the CD drives tree. Right mouse click on your cd drive and click properties and you will see a box to uncheck auto insert notification.

This is a lot less dangerous than messing with the registry.

Auto insert notification and Autorun are two completely different things. Besides, W2K doesn't give you the ability to disable auto insert notification by the method you describe. That applies to Win9x. This is the W2K forum.
