So, i've had Win7 since its launch date & its ran w/ very few problems.
Starting yesterday the gadgets on my PC have frozen, and started to use nearly 60% of my cpu.
Its not just individual gadgets. its the whole 'program'.

Two days ago i installed the updates:
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB976098)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB977074)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB976972)

other than that. I've done thing major to my system besides installing Mass Effect 2.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this?


My computer is:
AMD: Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2991 MHz
Mobo: Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 v.2
RAM: 4GB Mushkin DDR2 PC2-6400
OS: Win 7 64bit
VC: EVGA 8800 GTS 320MB

You could try rolling back to a Restore Point prior to the patch installs to see if it helps.

i was hoping to avoid that,
that would be before i installed Mass Effect 2
