A friend of mine wants to get a 128MB rdram upgrade for his comp... this one site he was looking at sells single rdram ram sticks and not in pairs. the company sells them with that dummy ram that your supposed to plug into unused rimm slots. So you get one real stick of ram and one fake stick... can this work or is this company on drugs?

Jesus may save, but I invest.

Neither.

The i815 and i820 chipsets were single-channel, so you only needed one stick. The i850(E) is dual-channel, so you need two sticks (rather, you need pairs of sticks). I'm not sure why they're selling packs of one RIMM and one cRIMM (continuity RIMM, the "dummy stick"), perhaps they are on drugs after all.
