Hello,

I have this problem where whenever i want to install a game or program that uses "setup.exe" doesnt work. Autorun doesnt show any forms of life so i go into the disk find the setup.exe run it and nothing happens, cant even see it in task manager, tried shutting processes and stuff, checked my windows files using some cmd command, nothing helped, I just double click it and nothing happens, literally nothing. I cant install anything.

I am using windows 7 ultimate SP1, fully updated. Can anyone help me ? ;/

More about : setup exe responding

Try a restore point to before you had this issue.

Is that the only thing that does not work? Other programs already installed work fine?

Usually this happens after a virus gets on the computer, did that happen?

You can try to do a Repair installation of Windows if the restore point does not help.

No viruses, everything works fine just i cant install any new games, programs seem fine. dont really understand whats happening :D  also tried repair, said all files are ok and none are corrupted or anything. i think this could be a registry error ?
