Are the vertical channels, like 4, 8 and 24 weaker on G5. I just converted
my Birdview dish to use a standard LNB and receiver, I'm have weak signals
only on G5. Horizontal channels on G5 are OK. Also, vertical and
horizontal
channels on other satellites are OK. Any ideas? I'm planning on changing
my
receiver to a 4DTV receiver, once I get this problem resolved.

During the conversion, I installed a new cable, new LNB, new Feedhorn. The
Receiver was used, a Uniden Supra.

In Alaska, I notice that transponder 4 of G5 (Sci Fi)
is particularly weak. Channel 6 (TBS) is not bad, however.
I think G5 is due to be replaced soon with a more powerful
satellite.
